Microblading, (also known as Eyebrow Embroidery or Feathering) is a procedure categorized under permanent makeup, but unlike traditional cosmetic tattooing, it is less invasive and is considered semi-permanent. It is a manual method, and is the finest form of eyebrow tattooing. Microblading uses a disposable pen-like tool with a unique single use microblade attached to deposit pigment into the upper dermal layer of the skin to create very fine, precise strokes. These hair strokes flow in the same direction as your own hairs, yielding the most natural results that very closely mimic the look and detail of actual brow hairs. Microblading can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrow and is excellent for those wanting to enhance their brows or who have little to no eyebrows, thinning brows from age or over tweezed brows. Pigments used are chosen to match the natural or desired brow color and skin tone will also be taken into consideration.
For the first Microblading session, the entire procedure should take about 2.5- 3 hours. During this session, the brow technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure.
The client is to come in for a follow up visit in order to have any minor necessary touch ups. The second Microblading session takes place after 4-6 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete.
Microblading is semi-permanent, as it will not wash off, however it will fade gradually over time. Although results differ from client to client, microblading typically last on average between 1-3 years, with annual touch-ups recommended in order to refresh the pigment and redefine the strokes. All cosmetic tattooing is a 2-step process, with both the first and second “perfecting” session included in the initial procedure price. Perfecting sessions can be booked no sooner than 4 weeks, and no later than 8 weeks following the initial appointment (waiting 6 weeks is recommended). Client’s pigment retention will be evaluated at the perfecting session, and modifications will be made if necessary. Please Note that final results CAN NOT be guaranteed, as each unique skin type holds and breaks down pigment differently. Even after the perfecting session, it is not unusual to need additional sessions between annual refreshments. Frequency of sessions depends on both your personal preference, and the facotors that affect the skin’s ability to retain. Without maintenance, your semi-permanent makeup may leave a soft haze of residual pigment behind, which is still a great guideline when filling in brows.
Most common factors responsible for tattoo fading:
• Inability to follow proper aftercare
• Lifestyle choices (ex: exercising)
• Blonde color shades (lighter pigments tend to fade faster)
• Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA- skin peeling agent)
• Glycolic Acid
• Iron deficiency
• Sun exposure
• Retinols/Anti-againg products
• Any other treatments or products used for dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars
• Exfoliants
• Strong immune systems
• Exposure to salt water
While Microblading is a safe and reliable procedure that is suitable for most people, there are conditions that can prohibit clients from being a good candidate. If you have any of the following conditions, please consult with your doctor before attempting this procedure and bring a doctor’s note with you to your appointment. If you have any of the following medical conditions and show up to your appointment without a legitimate doctor’s written consent, I will not perform this procedure.
*I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who I deem not suitable for this procedure or for any other reason.

I take all proper precautions for a safe session by using sterilized equipment, new needles and in a sanitized environment. Should clients follow my pre and post care instructions, there should be minimal risks or complications. Although allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, it could be possible for certain individuals. I suggest a pigment patch test for individuals who have high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to:
• Topical makeup products
• Gold, silver and nickel
• Hair dyes
*Patch tests should be performed 5-7 days prior.
The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure I will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetic; depending on the client, the feeling of the procedure has been described as light cat scratches to not feeling anything. Topical anesthetics used may contain lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.
After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn. Clients can take Tylenol but NOT aspirin or ibuprofen.
Clients are more than welcome to bring in reference photos of their ideal brow goals, as well as fill them in with makeup the way they want/typically wear them. Brow shape is designed based on client’s measured facial features in combination with my professional opinion. We will not begin the actual procedure until client is in 100% agreement with the final mapped out design.
The first microblading appointment is about structure, design, and building hairstrokes. The touch-up is utilized to see how the skin heals and retains pigment, as well as making any necessary adjustments to achieve better symmetry, definition, or volume.
Most clients require a touch-up appointment within 2 months of the initial procedure to fill in any areas of the skin that may not have fully retained the pigment – this is completely normal and to be expected. The touch-up takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours and is included in the price of your initial procedure.
Some may even require a 3rd session to complete the process. Especially if you have little to no hair to begin with, have scar tissue, oily skin type, or we are trying to cover up an old tattoo.
Drier skin types will retain pigment more easily, while extremely oily skin types will most likely need the touch-up.
In order to achieve the best results, it is best to follow the pre and post care instructions.
